Wrestle your thoughts into submission (or Ambar them)

Wrestle your thoughts into submission (or Ambar them)

Have you ever had one of those days?

A day where your patience is non-existent, everything seems to frustrate you, and nothing you do works out the way it’s supposed to? If you’re training – it feels like it’s your first time on the mats. Everyone you roll with dominates the match and you can’t even remember how to shrimp.

Self-Doubt and insecurities swirl in your head like clouds hugging the eye of a hurricane and the voice in your head is tearing you down. “Why are you even trying?” “You are an imposter.” “Stop pretending, you’re something you’re not.”

In 2 Corinthians 10:15 Paul addresses these thoughts. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

Know that the negative thoughts and influences you experience every day are NOT from God. Paul tells us that we have the ability to take our thoughts under control in the name of Jesus. In His name we can wrestle the thoughts in our head that are not from Him into submission.

To continue the analogy, if a negative thought of doubt and shame shoots in for a blast double-leg, turn your hip, throw in a whizzer, and sprawl that bad-boy’s metaphorical face into the mat.

I pray for your strength to take your thoughts under your control today.

God Bless you!
